Our third annual kite festival will take place on Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 10am-2pm. The first 25 kids there will receive complimentary kites. Free food and drinks while they last.

Dog Days of Summer 2010
Join us on Tuesday, August 31 at 4pm to "Say Goodbye to the Dog Days of Summer!" Join the Friends of Ronan Park and the Animal Rescue League of Boston for a free evening of fun. Learn how the Animal Rescue League of Boston rescues animals. Discover how to train your pet to be obedient and how to protect yourself from dog bites. See a Boston Police Department canine unit demonstration. Gain knowledge in basic animal care of your dog. Visit the law enforcement prevention station and be trained on how to report animal concerns.
Start your evening at the flagpole from 4–4:30 p.m. with free pizza and popsicles.
Please leave your personal pets at home. The Animal Rescue League of Boston will bring all the pets for the event.
Recommended for children aged 5–15 accompanied with a guardian. If there is heavy rain, the event will be cancelled.

Ronan Park Movie Nights
So far in 2010, park visitors have enjoyed showings of UP and STAR WARS. Stay tuned for future movie nights. Free hot dogs & drinks while they last--bring a blanket or lawnchairs. Upper Ronan Park by the playground, enter at the corner of Percival & Marie Streets.

Dog Run Open!
The Dog Recreation Space Grand Unleashing was a great success--years in the making, this partnership between the Friends, the Mayor's office, the Parks Department, and the Animal Rescue League has tongues and tails waggin' all over Boston. We'll have pictures and a movie up shortly!

Boston Shines Park Cleanup & BBQ
The Boston Shines neighborhood clean up held April 25th was another success. The park looks cleaner and greener, many neighbors got involved, and the 3rd annual neighborhood BBQ afterwards was appreciated by all the hungry helpers. We will have some pictures up soon.
